In conclusion Sherman Lewis was able to have a very successful career as a player (inducted into M.S. hall of fame and eventually drafted into NFL) and as a coach (College and (Pros). Lewis showed that as an African American in the early 1960s you could be successful and have a big time career. He really left an impact on young African Americans that went to school in Kentucky because he was able to receive a full time scholarship to one of the best college football programs in Michigan State.
